The BIRDY2 has passed double load testing, which means that the smaller sizes have been tested separately from the larger ones, to best adapt to the specifics of each. With the BIRDY2, we introduce an XXS size, offering a Flying weight range from 50 to 65 kg. This new model allows pilots all sizes, including the lightest, to find a glider that suits them perfectly.

Why is this so important?

Positioning in the Flying weight range range directly influences the behavior of your glider. Here’s what that means:

• glider lightly loaded: generally slower at flight, this can make it easier to exploit thermals. On the other hand, theglider is more sensitive to turbulence, with more frequent “flashing” movements (although generally without consequence).
• glider highly loaded: flight fast and more resistant to turbulence. Closures are less frequent but can be more dynamic. Since the speed is higher, the use of thermals is a little more technical, requiring a shorter reaction time from the pilot.
  Our recommendation:

For optimum steering performance, we recommend aiming for the upper third of the Flying weight range range. This guarantees :

• Good speed for your transitions.
• Increased Stability in turbulence.
• Better contact withglider for precise, comfortable steering .

This approach enables precise adjustment of the materials. For example, the smaller sizes benefit from lines finer, significantly reducing drag. As a result, performance is maximized, both in terms of handling and speed, for a refined and perfectly balanced flight experience whatever the size chosen.
